Images from the game Brutal Legend (Double Fine, 2009) were used, and the cover art, band logos and typography, the founding of metal with Black Sabbath, a little bit of music theory, and the reasons why metal remains relevant and interesting today were discussed, in the words of Rob Halford (Judas Priest) and Scott Ian (Anthrax).

Games about pandemics - Plague Tale and Vampyr
Video lesson on History about the Black Death and the Spanish Flu and how they are portrayed in the games Plague Tale: Innocence (Asobo Games, 2019) and Vampyr (Dontnod, 2018). I forgot to add data on the total number of deaths from the Black Death! Sorry! Some estimates reach close to 200 million people, which means a number between 30% and 50% of the European population, depending on the affected location.

On the other hand, they offer excellent historical content and are very entertaining. The video has two objectives. The first is to dispel the misconception that games are merely childish entertainment without substance. It also makes several connections to the present day and, at the end, includes a reading of an excerpt from an article by historian Lilia Schwarcz about how books are able to endure.

This is a history video lesson about some historical aspects of the game Ghost of Tsushima (Sucker Punch, 2020). This is the first video in a series, and to begin, we discuss the game's setting. Therefore, we provide an overview of what the shogunate was and the event that serves as the game's theme: the Mongol invasion of Japan in 1274. There are also connections to other historical moments, such as the Mongol invasion of Baghdad, and the mythological and symbolic significance of the typhoon that struck the invading fleet in Japan.

This is a history video lesson using the game Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (Ubisoft, 2020) to discuss the arrival of the Viking peoples in the Americas. We also take the opportunity to talk about vegetation, navigation, archaeological sites, and the construction of dwellings.
