William writes a letter of explanation to Mary, but her mother hides it in hopes Mary will get back with her ex-lover Rick. William visits a dying woman who is afraid of not being found after death.

As William and Mary's relationship becomes more serious, their children become curious about their parents' new partners. William deals with an unusual request involving a client's ashes, while trouble at work puts Mary's career as a midwife in jeopardy.
The Football Match
William is faced with the heartbreaking task of arranging funerals following the deaths of three teenagers, while Mary struggles with her mother's interference. As their families adjust to the new relationship, Mary worries that she and William may be moving too quickly.
