Episode 1: The Auditions Part 1
The judges visit Leeds and London for the first audions round. Amongst the thousands of contestants who tried out were: Retired miner Mario, sisterly duos Sweet Harmony and Gemini, rapper ginger Benjamin (who got on the wrong side of Sharon by insulting her kids!) & 81 year old Reney!
Episode 2: The Auditions Part 2
The judges visit Newcastle. Two rivalry bands both get through to the next round. A girl tries out with her two best friends, only to be told by Simon that she has to ditch them if she wants to go any further. After a heart-to-heart with her friends, the girl tries out in front of the judges on her own. Louis gets re-acquainted with an old friend. Simon suggests that Louis take her out, then when she turns up for their lunch date with her dog, Louis runs away from Simon and out of the back door.
Episode 3: The Auditions Part 3
The judges continue to search for people who they think have the X Factor.
Episode 4: The Auditions Part 4
The judges visit Scotland. The talent is very poor and the success rate of getting through to the next round is very low. The judges aren't very pleased. Sharon, annoyed at Simon, pours two glasses of water over his head.
Episode 5: The Auditions Part 5
The judges continue to search for people who they think have the X Factor.
Episode 6: The Boot Camp Part 1
The judges get together a team to help them mentor their group of hopefuls.

Series 1 - Live Show 5
Cassie and Tabby were the final two people left and the judges had to choose between them. Louis and Simon both voted Cassie off. Sharon refused to give a vote. Kate Thornton said that if the votes were tied, then the person who would be kicked out is the person who got the lowest phone votes. Over 2 million people had voted for Cassie and Tabby.

In this episode, each act performed two songs. On the results show later on, the judges decided which one of the two songs that their act sung earlier, would be singing again to keep them in the show. Rowetta was voted off tonights show.

In this episode, Tabby was voted off the show. Even though he was sad to be going, he was glad that he'd made it this far. G4 and Steve will be going head-to-head in the final next Saturday.
