When the kids tell Vernon he was a bad father while they were growing up, he is mortified and sets about putting things right. He 'sorts out' a school bully, buys Milly a new dog, and takes them on a summer holiday to Wales... in February.

Vernon mistakes an Ecstasy tablet for a sweet and ends up in hospital, where he's told he only has 17 years left to live.
