Mrs. Mack complains to Isabel and Mairi about the statue she got from her brother-in-law. Carol and Mairi continue, with the help of Jockie with the preparations to Isabel's surprise birthday party. Sheila gets a visit from her husband, Eddie on leave from the army. Sheila tells Eddie about Paul, whom he meets later on.
