Luca Benvenuto is appointed chief commissioner of the 10th Tuscolano precinct, while Raffaele Marchetti also leaves the series after the first four episodes. Alessandro Berti also leaves the precinct, having left for America at the end of the previous series.

The presence at the 10th Tuscolano Police District of the only witness to a brutal murder committed on the edge of a wood is the cause of an unexpected and tragic ambush by two killers who, in an attempt to kill the witness, fatally shoot Carlo, Inspector Gori's ex-boyfriend, and wound Officer Raffaele Marchetti. The investigation into the murder that took place in the woods leads the inspectors of the 10th Tuscolano to discover that the murderers are a group of expert hunters from the area, who met in Kenya during a hunting safari.
Like a son / The black priest
The mystery of Carlo's murder and her confusing and frustrating love affair with Commissioner Luca Benvenuto push Inspector Anna Gori to throw herself headlong into the search for a mysterious Russian woman linked to Carlo for reasons still unknown. The investigation leads her to a Russian restaurant where she meets Dorian, a charming and gallant Hungarian who, struck by her beauty, invites her to meet again. Anna, under a false identity, accepts the invitation. While inspectors Lorenzo and Elena are dealing with the case of attempted poisoning of a black priest that occurred during mass in a parish in Tuscolano, inspector Anna Gori, frustrated by her relationship with Luca, continues to investigate Katarina Leventaggi, discovering that Carlo had given her emergency medical assistance.
Double lives / Island
The inspectors of the 10th Tuscolano investigate the kidnapping of the fifteen-year-old daughter of a Romanian bookseller who hides a past as a policeman under the Ceausescu regime. Meanwhile, the investigations into Carlo's murder and the mysterious Russian woman he was in contact with lead Inspector Anna Gori and Commissioner Luca Benvenuto to the discovery of his possible involvement in drug trafficking. The investigations of the inspectors of the X° Tuscolano, assisted by the young inspector Gabriele Mancini, focus on the murder of a young aspiring cartoonist found dead in a ditch in the hamlet of Tor Pagnotta. The investigation into the murder of a young lawyer from a well-known law firm leads the District inspectors to discover a fatal case of mistaken identity, but the many truths that emerge from the investigation will bring to light the firm's secret dirty dealings. The inspectors of the 10th Tuscolano investigate the origin of the bruises found on the bodies of three children, guilty of a small theft in a toy store. The case becomes complicated when the main suspect, the parish priest of the neighborhood, is found dead in his home.

The investigation of the new inspector Gabriele Mancini into a series of rapes of young women who were former drug addicts that took place in the Parco degli Acquedotti takes an unexpected turn when he himself is recognized by one of the victims as the culprit. Contrary to the orders of the magistrate Castelli, inspector Anna Gori continues her operation of infiltration into the Russian mafia environment. The rape accusations leveled against Inspector Mancini by one of the victims of the Parco degli Acquedotti seem to be supported by the discovery that the mother in her youth had been hospitalized in a Swiss clinic for drug addiction. Subjected to a psychiatric evaluation, the inspector will prove to be completely innocent and, rehabilitated in the investigation, will be able to identify the real culprit.

An elderly German is found hanged in a B&B room and the inspectors of the X Tuscolanoo start an investigation challenging the hypothesis of an apparent suicide. The revelation of his youthful membership in the German army will lead them to the discovery of ancient partisan grudges that have never been quelled. The District inspectors are engaged in the case of the kidnapping of an eighteen-year-old girl, who according to her father's testimony would have staged a false kidnapping to obtain money from him. The hypothesis is denied by the discovery that the girl is dead and her body lies inside the trunk of the car in the open countryside.
What remains of the fathers / Sleight of hand
The kidnapping of a company official by workers in protest against job cuts turns into a tragedy when an elderly worker is found dead. The investigations of the X inspectors will try to shed light on a possible murder case. The investigation into the Italian financial company, an economic mediator for the Russian mafia, yields unexpected results. Officially transferred to a Swiss clinic for a leg operation, Inspector Anna Gori resumes in absolute secrecy her mission of infiltration in the Russian mafia environment where Pavel's change at the top of the organization makes her relationship with Dorian more risky.
Rained from the sky / Tests of courage

A wealthy forty-year-old owner of a temporary employment agency is killed by a prostitute in an apartment rented by the hour. It will be up to the inspectors to prove the woman's innocence and identify the real culprit. Inspector Anna Gori has shown Dorian that he can trust her, but that is not enough to save her life.

A mysterious killer kills a young woman staying at an institute for the blind. The suspicions of the inspectors of the X Tuscolano focus on the director and owner of the institute, the only beneficiary of the insurance policy taken out by the woman before her death, but the testimony of a friend of the victim who smelled the killer will lead the investigators on the right track. Contrary to Commissioner Benvenuti's orders, Inspector Anna Gori thwarts the raid on the Russian mafia's weapons depot and saves Dorian. Having gained his trust, she manages to attend the meeting of the organization's leaders and photograph them, but realizes she is being spied on.

While the inspectors are looking for the lighter with the mole's prints lost by Gori on the beach in Ostia, Commissioner Benvenuti becomes convinced that the mole is the magistrate Castelli. The analysis of the Russian mole's footprints exonerates the magistrate Castelli and reveals the true identity of the secret informant: Katarina Kasparova, the girl long sought by Inspector Gori and then believed to be dead. The magistrate recognizes her as his governess from the East, Maria, and thanks to her testimony the inspectors of the X will be able to find Dorian's traces.
