New Farmers – Season 1
KRO-NCRV's 'New Farmers' not only allows the viewer to experience the tension of survival on the farm, but also shows how we as modern people have become increasingly distant from where our food comes from. For a month, twelve candidates survive on a farm where time has stood still. Completely self-sufficient, without electricity, without wifi and without running water, but with lots of animals and land that needs to be cared for and maintained daily. Nothing is self-evident here for anyone. Everything takes time and effort, especially if you have no farming experience and are therefore dependent on your common sense. Who can best work together to keep the farm running? Who is the most valuable to the group and who knows how to stay in the game the longest? Because in addition to working together, the twelve participants also have to compete against each other and each episode with a duel determines who has to leave the farm.

The kickoff

Episode 2
Day two at the farm. How did the Nieuwe Boeren sleep and who is in charge in the kitchen? Rianne and Arnold are in the yard to check the tasks that have been handed out. Will the first Herenboer manage to fill the greenhouse? And who has to leave the farm after just four days?
Episode 3
The first dropout must designate the new Herenboer. Who does he / she choose? Farmer Rianne and her husband Arnold hand out new tasks and take a surprise with them.
Episode 4
The game on the farm is played high, especially by city boy Akaash for whom farm life comes second. Two camps arise, young against old. In the meantime, the work is piling up and even a sheep has to be sheared. Manual.
Episode 5
Romy is appointed as herenboer on one condition: that she selects a woman as the first duelist. She plans to keep that promise, but is that smart? And have all tasks been carried out properly, such as the cheese and shearing of the sheep? Real farmers Arnold and Rianne are friendly but also strict.
Episode 6
Working on the farm hard? Everything the new farmers had to do so far pales in comparison to the amount of work they are faced with this time.
Episode 7
The loser has promised gentlemen farmers to just about all men. Who does he choose? Farmer Arnold comes to pick up pig Rita and not for a pleasure trip. For Jethro that means saying goodbye to one of his best buddies.
Episode 8
Two female candidates compete against each other in an unforgettable duel. Thijs muster all his courage to tell Jos that he can no longer stand him, but just when he is that far, something intervenes, causing the flame to hit the pan.
Episode 9
Jethro is still not very popular with his fellow candidates and they are increasingly expressing that. The livestock is expanded with an animal that greatly impresses farmers.
Episode 10
Françoise makes no mistake about who is now in charge of the farm: she. Even though the goat doesn't care about that. Thijs is afraid that he has to leave and decides to go his own way, to the annoyance of the others.
Episode 11
