Millennials Auditions
Season 14 of MasterChef brings together amateur cooks from four generations - Millennials, Baby Boomers, Gen Z and Gen X - to prove that age does not matter in the kitchen. In the first round of auditions, the Millennial chefs prepare their signature dishes for judges Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez and Joe Bastianich and guest judge Priya Krishna. Five home cooks will receive a coveted white apron and move on in the hopes of claiming the title of the next MasterChef champion, a trophy and $250,000.
Baby Boomer Auditions
The auditions continue as the Baby Boomer chefs battle it out for a coveted spot in the top 20. Each contestant has 45 minutes to prepare a signature dish that impresses the judges in order to continue on in the competition.
Gen Z Auditions
The Gen Z chefs are next up in the audition round. Each contestant has 45 minutes to prepare a signature dish that will impress the judges and secure a spot in the top 20.
Gen X Auditions
The auditions conclude as the Gen X chefs take over the kitchen. Each contestant has 45 minutes to prepare a signature dish that will impress the judges and secure one of the final five spots in the competition.
Back to the Future -- Mystery Box
The four generations go head-to-head as the top 20 enter the MasterChef kitchen. The chefs are faced with their first mystery box challenge where they are presented with a childhood photo of themselves and tasked with creating a restaurant-worthy dish that highlights their favorite nostalgic comfort foods from their youth. The most impressive dish grants an entire generation immunity from elimination while a chef from the remaining three teams risks going home.
Age Is Just a Number
The multigenerational chefs are tasked with creating a stunning dish using a variety of aged and fermented ingredients. With the safety of an immunity pin, the winner of last week's challenge chooses a generation to incorporate a surprise ingredient into their dishes. The chef with the best dish will earn an immunity pin and protect the remaining chefs within their generation from elimination.
LAFC Field Challenge
The four generations are split into teams as they take on their first field challenge - cooking a healthy and hearty meal for professional soccer players. The chefs must work together to cook over 100 portions of food and the pressure intensifies as the generations collide. Both teams compete head-to-head in hopes of scoring a win and earning the safety from elimination.
Birthday Bakes
This time, they will compete in a cake-making competition that promises to be a complete disaster
Memory Lane: Mystery Box
The chefs work in teams to create a dish using a mystery box filled with different food items from their generation.
Beer Necessities
The chefs must incorporate the iconic beer, Blue Moon, into their dishes and ensure that the bright flavors are at the forefront of their creations.
Quarry Field Challenge
The chefs take on another field challenge as they are tasked with cooking a hearty lunch for over 100 workers.
Tag Team
The remaining chefs work in pairs and switch off cooking back-and-forth during the tag team challenge.
Storm's a Brewin'
The contestants have 45 minutes to prepare a restaurant quality dish that features coffee; Gordon Ramsay shares his own espresso-infused dish.
Feel The Burn - Mystery Box
The MasterChef kitchen heats up as the top ten contestants are faced with a fiery mystery box challenge.
The Wall
The top 8 chefs face a surprise and discover that they must work in pairs to cook identical dishes from opposite sides of a wall.
Ramsay's Rooftop Restaurant Takeover
The top six home chefs get a break from the MasterChef kitchen to take over Ramsay's Rooftop, an exclusive pop-up restaurant open for one night only in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles.
