Episode 1
In 1975, factory worker Fei Ni's college dreams are crushed again. When Fang Muyang returns home and is injured saving others, she volunteers to care for him, recognizing him from her past and unknowingly linking their futures.
Episode 2
Fei Ni diligently cares for the unconscious Fang Muyang, slowly uncovering pieces of his life through his belongings. As others begin to compete for recognition, Fei Ni’s own hopes for college remain uncertain.
Episode 3
Struggling with doubt, Fei Ni seeks advice from her former teacher and questions whether her efforts can truly change her fate. Despite financial strain, she continues to support Fang Muyang’s rehabilitation.
Episode 4
Fei Ni asks Fang Muyang for help in reporting Fang Muyang's recovery to the factory manager, Xu Hongqi. Fang Muyang then goes to a thrift store with Fei Ni to play the piano.
Episode 5
Because Xu Hongqi deliberately stalls Fei Ni to avoid college, she is forced to follow her parents' arranged marriage. When she is matched with Xu Hongqi's son, Ye Feng, and brings to her parents' home, Fang Muyang shows up.
Episode 6
Fang Muyang finally remembers Fei Ni as his junior high school friend. He asks Fei Ni not to marry until Fang Muyang finds a job and a home. Meanwhile, Qu Hua reunites with Fang Mujing at university.
Episode 7
Ye Feng disagrees with Fei Ni's decision to call off their arranged marriage because of her mother, Xu Hongqi. Fang Muyang helps her and they agree to marry for the sake of their home. Meanwhile, Qu Hua questions Fang Mujing's family.
Episode 8
Fang Muyang asks Fei Ni's parents for their blessing to marry Fei Ni, but they refuses, so Fang Muyang looks for a way to get them to accept him. Meanwhile, Qu Hua proposes to Fang Mujing despite her family background.
Episode 9
Fei Ting suddenly arrives and kidnaps Fang Muyang as he and Fei Ni are about to get married. Fei Ni then draws up a prenuptial agreement, which he agrees to. Because Xu Hongqi is very indecisive, the couple end up sleeping in her office.
Episode 10
Fang Muyang and Fei Ni take over a disputed factory room, drawing public attention and conflict. Past problems resurface, resulting in an uncertain agreement granting them housing. They turn the shabby space into a home with warmth.
Episode 11
Fei Mingde tests Fang Muyang's loyalty to Fei Ni by drinking together. Fei Ni convinces Lin Mei's parents to approve Fei Ting and Lin Mei's marriage. Fang Muyang helps build household furniture as Fei Ting's dowry for Lin Mei.
Episode 12
Fei Ni and Fang Muyang hold a reception in the cafeteria of the textile factory where Fei Ni works. Fang Muyang confesses his love to Fei Ni, but he doesn't expect his sister, Fang Mujing, to come with her husband, Qu Hua.
Episode 13
Fei Ni and Fang Muyang's house is raided by Feng Lin, Xu Hongqi and Wang Xiaoman, who are suspected of being a fake couple. Fang Muyang calls all the neighbors and plays a prank on Wang Xiaoman, who allegedly reports them.
Episode 14
Neighbors await a TV as Fang Muyang works secretly with others to build one, impressing Fei Ni. They finish. Fang Mujing finds her husband can't forget his ex. The TV earns praise, helping Fei Ting, but Lin Mei's family adds demands.
Episode 15
Fang Muyang makes a modified bed for Fei Ni to avoid suspicion from the neighbors. Feng Lin, who hates Fei Ni from the start, tries to frame her brother, Fei Ting, with his essay which is considered not in favor of the people.
Episode 16
Fei Ni and Fang Muyang bond over creative pursuits. Feng Lin publicly destroys Fei Ni's praised designs, forcing her to reconsider her direction. Fang Mujing encounters ex-lover Liu Wei, stirring old pain and making Qu Hua jealous.
Episode 17
Fei Ni's parents are furious and disappointed when they read Fei Ni and Fang Muyang's prenuptial agreement is for the sake of their home. Fei Ni's family urges them to divorce, but they both insists on maintaining their marriage.
Episode 18
Qu Hua approaches his brother-in-law, Fang Muyang, to know Fang Mujing's personality. He gives food and sweater for Fang Mujing and her colleagues. Lin Mei enlists Fei Ni's help in catching Fei Ting, who is suspected of cheating.
Episode 19
Fei Ni and Fang Muyang enjoy married life while Fei Ting faces workplace stress. When Ling Yi publishes Fei Ni's article as her own, Fang Muyang helps prove the plagiarism. Fei Ni forgives Ling Yi but reclaims her work.
Episode 20
Fei Ni gives him a lantern with a picture made by Fang Muyang that has been thrown away. Meanwhile, Fang Mujing comes home drunk and delirious about Qu Hua, much to Qu Hua's delight.
Episode 21
Fei Ni and Fang Muyang are arrested for having the banned book. They are released on condition that their house be confiscated. While she is staying at her family's house, an earthquake struck. Fang Muyang rushes to retrieve Fei Ni.
Episode 22
Fang Muyang and Qu Hua volunteer to help earthquake victims. Fang Mujing waits for their return, while Fei Ni rushes there to meet Fang Muyang.
Episode 23
Fang Muyang, Fei Ni and Qu Hua return home safely. Fang Muyang's superior informs him that his parents have returned from the village. A new deputy director announces that Xu Hongqi has been transferred back to her original work.
Episode 24
A new deputy director dissolves the factory basketball team. Ye Feng resists but must work in the cafeteria. Fei Ting embraces kitchen work. Fei Ni encourages Ye Feng. Fang Muyang's parents return and the couple gets their own room.
Episode 25
Fei Ni reapplies to university, to fulfill her dream to become a writer after her factory recommends to Ningzhou University. Qu Hua overcomes his fear of surgery by operating on his grandmother, moving past with Fang Mujing's support.
Episode 26
Fang Muyang quits his publishing job after losing a creative vote with his editor. He takes a waiter position to stay independent. Fei Ting and Lin Mei find a bag of cash and face trouble with her brother while trying to return it.
Episode 27
Fang Mujing openly calls Mu Shanhe "Mom," surprising her colleagues. After work, Qu Hua also calls Mu Shanhe "Mom". Meanwhile, Fang Muyang needs Fei Ni for novel ideas.
Episode 28
Lin Mei's brother has an accident that leaves his legs disabled, but Lin Mei refuses to help him due to his own greed. Fei Ni tells Fang Muyang that their house is returned because Feng Lin is fired from the factory.
Episode 29
Fei Ni's hopes are dashed when a program is postponed, but restored entrance exams offer new opportunity. Fei Ting becomes a permanent worker after returning lost money. Fei Ni and Fang Muyang study, pass exams and enter their fields.
