Benin
When Denise's mother falls prey to a group of ruthless internet scammers and is driven to despair, she sees no other way out than to end her own life. Disillusioned by the police's inability to intervene, Denise decides to maintain contact with the perpetrators herself. She enlists the help of Kees and his team to uncover the true identity of the criminals. What follows is an intense, revealing, and emotionally charged investigation that ultimately leads her to the West African country of Benin.
Johannesburg
Sheila’s mother has fallen head over heels in love with American country singer George Strait. In her quest to be with him, she has transferred all her financial resources and eventually sold her home as well. In a state of desperation, she turns to Kees with a request to gather evidence that her mother is a victim of fraud. The investigation leads them to a dark neighborhood in Johannesburg, where the truth threatens to slowly come to light.
Cebu, Philippines and Istanbul, Turkey
Susan's elderly and very wealthy aunt shows clear signs of mental decline. Hundreds of thousands of euros mysteriously disappear from her bank account, including to a woman in New York who claims to need financial support for the film adaptation of a book. Kees and his team join forces with Susan to get to the bottom of the matter. The investigation leads them along a complex trail that stretches from the tropical island of Cebu in the Philippines to the historic streets of Istanbul.
Scotland
The search for fugitive con artist Liz from Wijchen takes Kees and his team to the rugged north of Scotland. While Liz still has to serve a year in prison in the Netherlands, she is focusing her attention in Scotland on Robert Jan, a participant in ‘B&B Vol Liefde’. This remarkable turn of events in the investigation sheds new light on her activities and reveals that her practices are now taking place outside the Dutch borders as well. The team's objective is to track her down and bring her to justice so that she can finally serve her sentence.
