Jon juggles two jobs and has to prioritize. It is urgent to get sowing done, and when a part of the harrow breaks, it looks dark.
The idyll is complete
Ellen is making a dream of having sheep and goats a reality, but there is a lot to learn before the animals arrive. Jon is repairing fences.
Self-sufficiency is a lot of work
The vegetables must get in the soil at Brårud farm. Jon and Ellen realize that they have taken on too much. Jon and Audun organize a festival.
It sprouts and grows
Jon and Ellen have high hopes for the sheep fair award. Jon challenges his fear of large animals. They make a terrible discovery in the field.
Crisis and bureaucracy
The weather is ruining the threshing, and the bureaucracy is getting in Jon's way. He comes up with an idea that no other farmer has thought of.

Daughter Liv is moving to the farm and has a lot to learn. Jon will participate in a local play, as Jupiter Ravnskygge. Will there be threshing?
Slaughter
Jon receives the verdict on this year's wheat harvest. It's time for slaughter at Brårud farm, and it will be an emotional day for both Jon and Ellen.
