Journey of a Lifetime: The year is 1890. Young Keat is forced to throw himself in with a ragged band of fur traders whose leader, Sam Drake, is as low down as dust mite on a tick's belly. Drake works Keat hard and shows no mercy. It's not until Keat meets Pem, a young North American Indian, that he remembers there is magic in life and people who love you. When Keat finds out that Drake intends to trade the goods of a man dead of small pox to Pem's people, he is forced to stand up to Drake.
