Lauren G. is a popular girl whose life is drastically changes when she is diagnosed with a brain tumor. Cappie goes from being a sweet, shy girl entering high school to having a reputation as the party girl.
Courtney
Courtney is a young girl with strong morals entering high school. She makes a few mistakes during her years at Northwest High School, but she basically stays a good person. She must help her young sister, Justine, deal with her unplanned pregnancy.
Jessi
Jessi is terrified of entering high school. During her years she has to deal with plenty of serious obstacles including heart breaks, depression, and pregnancy. Her hopes of becoming an actress may be crushed, when she wonders if she will graduate.
Allyson, Kim and Sarah T.
Allyson enters high school excited. She wants to get involved in activities and can't wait to meet new people, especially the new boys. In her sophomore year, her father suddenly passes away. Kim is a perfectionist, she starts high school as an overachiever hoping to please everyone. In her junior year, life becomes overwhelming for her, and she is forced to decide weather or not she should drop an activity, which would disappoint her father. Sarah T's journey is a lot different. She begins high school not caring any less about getting involved. Over time she changes her ways and gets involved in art and then she becomes vice president for the National Arts Honors Society.
Crystle, Beth and Gina
Crystle, Beth and Gina are the best of friends, they call themselves "The Tripod." Crystle's father works overseas and her mother frequently visits him. She is forced to take care of herself and the house. When she needs support she turns to her boyfriend since seventh grade, Tyler. She gets perfect grades and is involved in numerous school activities. Beth is trying to find herself, and Gina is the shy girl.
Sara N. and Caitlin
Sara's parents are Muslim. She enters high school saying having a boyfriend isn't what she is about, and her parents are against her having a relationship. During her high school years she ends up marrying her Marine boyfriend, Jonathon. Caitlin is Catholic and says religion is the most important thing to her. After learning of her cousins death, she has to find herself.
Cate, Beth and Lauren B.
Cate is a competitive athlete. Her dad remarries Beth's mother. The girls enter high school and shortly after their parents go through an ugly divorce. Lauren's main focus in high school is academics, politics become very important to her. She hopes to get into an out-of-state college.
New Beginnings
The girl are preparing for the next stage of their lives. We get to see their senior prom, final exams, and graduation. Then the girls look back on their high school years.
