Start in the Caribbean
Welcome to Paradise! Heidi Klum invites her girls to the Caribbean for the start of the 13th season of “Germany’s Next Top Model – by Heidi Klum”. Vacation under palm trees? None. Right from the start, the young models have to prove their talent: During a “Shoot & Walk” they try to win over Heid in a 60-second shoot with expressive poses in their favorite outfit.
The Nude Shoot
Rankin is back. In the second episode “Germany’s Next Top Model – by Heidi Klum”, head of the jury Heidi Klum invites her top model candidates to a first, big shoot. The first catwalk teaching is also on the program. To make the decision, the young models have to jump from a wooden platform in the water in bikinis designed by Heidi Klum and swim to the beach.
Jump into Winter
A particularly sweaty shoot in the Caribbean awaits Heidi Klum's young models. Star photographer Max Montgomery invites the top model candidates to sit on a trampoline in front of his camera. Equipped with thick winter outfits by designer Tim Labenda, they have to jump and find the right pose. In the finale the girls have the chance to get their first job. For a fashion show, designer Christian Cowan is looking for models to present his collection in front of 150 guests.
The big Makeover!
Ready for a new look? Today Heidi Klum and her styling team surprise the young models with the #GNTM makeover in Los Angeles. Edgy, cool, elegant or sweet - what do the candidates look like after the makeover? Who gets a short haircut? Who gets a completely new hair color? Who gets bangs?
The Unicorn Rodeo
Heidi Klum surprises her young models with a shoot with photographer Shane Russeck. The challenge: To get the perfect photo, the top model candidates have to find the right pose on a rodeo unicorn... In the elevator challenge, one candidate from the white team and one candidate from the black team have to change in a moving elevator within 40 seconds. They present their outfit to special guest and influencer Caro Daur.
Hip-Hop Edition
For a music video shoot, US rapper Brooke Candy shows the young models a 30-second hip hop performance with lyrics, which they then have to dance in front of the camera. For the decision, Heidi Klum's top model candidates are asked to dance by rapper Cro. To create a lasting impression, the young models have to come up with their own performance in teams, which they dance next to the singer in colorful hip hop outfits.
Boys, Boys, Boys
The 1920s are making a comeback today. Star photographer Yu Tsai captures the top model candidates in glittering 1920s outfits next to a male model. To make the decision, the #GNTM team transformed a real prison into a fashion hotspot. The top model candidates have to walk through a prison corridor in long robes and not be distracted by the loud prison inmates on the other side of the fence.
Magic Bride
Paris, je t’aime: Bruna, Christina, Trixi and Sara fly to the city of love for a casting for the fashion magazine Elle. In Paris they have to impress with their modeling qualities for a major fashion series. Who will be “Miss Top Model”? Who gets the crown? In the decision, the young models have to prove themselves for the first time in a “Miss pageant” alongside a competitor from their team. To do this, every model has to make a plea about herself and her competitor.
Action Edition
Under the Caribbean sun - the top model candidates get the chance for a big job at the “About You” casting. To do this, the two of them have to recite a commercial on the topic of friendship. Who gets the job and gets to fly to Cuba? To make the decision, the catwalk rotates 90 degrees: the young models have to walk almost 20 meters along a container wall in bodysuits towards the jury during the vertical walk.
It gets acrobatic
“Disney glamour” on “Germany’s Next Top Model – by Heidi Klum”: For a fashion show, the candidates transform themselves into extravagant versions of the cartoon icons Mickey and Minnie Mouse. With momentum for the perfect fashion shot: A rope, a large ring and two gymnastics rings - the young models have to choose one of the sports equipment and use it for an unusual pose. And who gets a leading role in Wincent Weiss' music video?
Shooting on Wheels
Fashion photographer Christian Anwander chauffeurs the #GNTM top ten through L.A. - not in a darkened limousine, but in an open trailer with a shower. True to the motto: watching is welcome! When casting for Venus and Braun's joint summer campaign, the influencer talent of the model candidates is in demand. For the coveted #GNTM job, they present various bathing utensils in the style of a video tutorial.
Family & Friends
Voluminous hairstyles and colorful shift dresses - styled like American housewives of the 60s, the #GNTM models film a commercial for household products. Adrien Brody, Sienna Miller, Ashley Graham and Queen Latifah - Heidi Klum shows two of her #GNTM models the world of stars and starlets at the charity gala.
Water Edition
Three weeks before the final, Heidi Klum invited a special guest for a special decision: Designer Wolfgang Joop, alongside the head of the jury, Thomas Hayo and Michael Michalsky, judged how the top model candidates walked down a rainy catwalk in elaborate dresses. Strong nerves are required: The models go on a dive in the Aquarium of the Pacific for the underwater shoot. Julianna, Christina and Jennifer fight for one of the biggest jobs in New York.
Drag Edition
Heidi Klum surprises her #GNTM candidates with a special star guest two weeks before the final: Alessandra Ambrosio is in front of the camera during the photo shoot. Dazzling outfits, artistic makeup and killer high heels - six drag queens transform the #GNTM models into their twins for the decision walk. And: Selfie star wanted - who will get the last job at #GNTM?
The Semi-finals
In the middle of the American desert, the semi-finalists have to pose in designer clothes in front of the lens of fashion photographer Regan Cameron. And the last decision-making walk before the #GNTM final is coming up; Jean Paul Gaultier personally selects haute couture gowns for the #GNTM models, which they have to present with extravagant poses. Which top model candidates can convince jury boss Heidi Klum of their performance and make it to the #GNTM final?
The Finale
Heidi Klum selects “Germany’s Next Top Model” 2018 together with the jurors Thomas Hayo and Michael Michalsky in the Düsseldorf ISS Dome. Heidi Klum: “After four years we are finally back in the Rhineland. This will be a very special final show.” At the #GNTM final 2018, just like in 2017, there will be no cell phones in the arena. Spectators are prohibited from having these with them.
