In the first episode, it opens with a flashback to the Barrie family’s fractured past: young Sally and Kaden return home to find their mother gone, leaving their father Robert devastated and forbidding any mention of her name. The transformation of the house marks the passage of time - especially the cellar door, which becomes increasingly concealed.
Episode 2
A shocking event leaves Carol trembling and terrified, especially as Robert's behaviour grows increasingly erratic and menacing. Kaden and her husband, police officer Dan, are expecting a baby and are house-hunting, but Kaden is leading a life he simply can't afford and is struggling to deal with financial stress. Carol's mother Moira is oblivious to the horror lurking at Stable Row until Carol confides in her.
Episode 3
Sally's secret relationship with Patrick intensifies as a near discovery raises the stakes, forcing Sally to confront the reality of what she has gotten involved with. Kaden faces mounting financial strain as he and Dan prepare for the arrival of their baby. As Carol searches for answers about Neil Barrie, she uncovers new information about the family's past.
Episode 4
Kaden brings news of a cash buyer for Stable Row, whose identity shocks everyone.
Episode 5
A visitor warns Robert to keep his mouth shut about events from 20 years ago.
Episode 6
Carol steps up her investigation, leading her to something more disturbing than murder.
