Paolo and Laura have secretly rented an apartment in the same building where they live with their family, a place to escape from their children and the chaos of the house where their aunts also moved in a few months ago. And it's there that the two meet to celebrate a very special occasion. After being discovered in the secret apartment, Paolo and Laura must face the entire family, envious of their love nest. Meanwhile, the man continues to receive text messages from the doctor's office to collect the results of some tests. Annoyed by the number of messages, Paolo decides to call the doctor and discovers that he needs to be examined as soon as possible.

The news of Paolo's illness has devastated him. He acts as if he has only a short time to live, becomes overly sentimental, and begins to take care of the house: he tidies up Cristina's room, repairs appliances that had been broken for ages, and even gives up the nursery to Capone, Valentini, and Merloni. The only thing he can't do is find the courage to tell Laura and his children everything. After receiving the good news from the doctor, Paolo and Laura are full of energy and determined to live more peacefully. Giorgi must deal with Cristina's decision to work with Martina in a call center. Meanwhile, Capone, Valentini, and Merloni have no intention of giving up the nursery that the coach had promised them as an inheritance.

Laura can't accept the idea of Emanuele leaving home; she feels her son is growing up too fast. Meanwhile, in the editorial office, Laura is faced with the consequences of her blank editorial. Meanwhile, Paolo, at the nursery, meets Eva, Laura's friend and interior designer. She's very attractive, and Capone instills doubt in the manager. Jealous of his daughter's romantic relationship, Paolo decides to write a fake eviction letter to get Cristina back, but then reconsiders. Martina, through Valentini, accidentally comes across the letter and discusses it with Cristina, who forces her father to justify himself to everyone.

Paolo is thrilled at the prospect of having a child, while Laura is terrified of losing her child, as she has already done. Meanwhile, Giorgi discovers that Eva is gay and feels embarrassed. However, once he's over it, he talks openly with her about his plans for parenthood, receiving sound advice. The doctor reassures Laura and Paolo: they are both fertile and can have a child. The two spend all day trying to find a place to "try," but it seems arduous. Cristina seems to have convinced herself to talk to her father about her pregnancy, but every time she tries, she's interrupted or misunderstood.

Aunt Elvira's arrival isn't painless: no one wants anything to do with her, so she asks Laura to let her stay. To curry favor with her, Paolo presents himself as a skilled cook and is forced to prove it by hosting a dinner for the entire family. Eva comes to his rescue once again, helping him in the kitchen. Following a minor incident with Aunt Filomena, Angoscia jumps out the window and disappears. Laura, unable to bear to inflict this pain on Nina, decides to replace the cat with another, but she hasn't counted on Aunt Elvira's presence. Cristina and Raoul, meanwhile, realize that the time has come to tell Paolo the truth.

Aunt Elvira, as always, disrupts everything, so Cristina's pregnancy is no longer a secret. Paolo is shocked by the news, considering his daughter still a child, and insists on taking her to the doctor. Laura tries to talk to her husband, but to no avail. Meanwhile, Jean-Claude's arrival in Rome is a reality, and Francesca offers to host him. Despite it being Sunday, Laura is busy with a thousand things, and most importantly, she has to take a pregnancy test. When she tells Paolo the negative result, they both promise to try again, but in reality, both feel that two pregnancies at home are difficult to manage. Meanwhile, the aunts have prepared a Christmas surprise.

Cristina and Raoul have decided to tell Claudia about the pregnancy, so they organize a breakfast at the Giorgi-Del Fiore house. When Paolo sees her, he recognizes the girl with whom he spent a wild night twenty years earlier. But his enthusiasm isn't matched by any emotion in her. Eva tries to console him, fascinated by Claudia. Paolo tells Cristina that he's decided to wait before having a baby with Laura. Cristina disagrees: she doesn't want to be the cause of this decision, which, in her opinion, makes no sense. As soon as she has the chance, she decides to talk to Laura about it. Claudia, meanwhile, has come to terms with the fact that she's about to become a grandmother, and the thought obsesses her.

Laura and Paolo are increasingly determined to have a child and consult a doctor, but the tests the doctor orders for Giorgi leave him feeling rather embarrassed. Eva, meanwhile, is obsessed with Claudia and decides to do something. The test results worry Paolo, who believes he can't give Laura a child. His wife tries to play it down, but the fact that the whole family has learned about the problem doesn't reassure him at all. Eva, meanwhile, is determined to confront Claudia and joins her at the hotel where she's staying.

Laura struggles to accept Nina's change and wants her blonde daughter back, but she broaches the subject with her daughter the wrong way. To keep her mind off Claudia, Eva throws herself headlong into work, and when Paolo asks her to bring a flower arrangement to Claudia, she's forced to confront her face-to-face. It's Christmas Eve, and Paolo wakes up with a strange omen: he dreamed of a destroyed house, a woman's foot wearing a fuchsia shoe, and a man's hand holding a knife. The nightmare worries him because he fears the Christmas dinner will be a disaster, especially with Eva, Claudia, and Roberta present.

Christmas at the Giorgi-Del Fiore household isn't exactly a White Christmas. Paolo and Laura rush to the Pierantoni house and take Giulio and Stefania to the hospital, where the couple has no intention of making peace. Paolo and Laura discover that Nina has ended up at the police station with Fab. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Giulio and Stefania not only won't stop arguing, but have also sparked a fight among the entire nursing staff. Monica and Giampaolo, for their part, decide to talk to Elisa together, but they don't know that she has a terrible revenge planned.

Determined to have a child, Paolo and Laura return to the doctor, who prescribes Giorgi a restorative treatment involving a period of abstinence from sex. Meanwhile, Paolo continues Raoul's training at the nursery. Meanwhile, in the newsroom, the girls are determined to find out if Elisa is bluffing.

Monica refuses to go to Giampaolo and Elisa's wedding, convinced it would be too painful, but her friends eventually force her to. In the middle of the ceremony, Monica has a vision of the past that could completely change the future. Paolo and Laura organize the dinner, trying to restore peace in the family. Martina convinces Cristina and Emanuele to try to stop Viola and Raoul, who have moved to the residence and are now about to leave for good. Emanuele is ready to make a heroic gesture to win her love back: will he succeed?
