A family living in a remote village in Montenegro decides to write a letter to their son studying to become a doctor in Belgrade.
Horse Of Inferior Quality
Head of the family, grandfather Miladin, decides to sell the family horse Cetalj in order to retrieve his grandson Miso from Munich, much to his son Radosav's protest.
The Debt
Miladin and Radosav try to collect the debt from their neighbor Joksim for the horse they sold him.
Loan
Radosav looks for a loan from the neighbors in order to go to Munich and fetch his son Miso.
Expectant
The family finds out that their neighbor Obren hanged himself because his promiscuous daughter got pregnant, and fears the father could be their son Miso.
The Speech
It is the day of Obren's funeral and Joksim is entrusted to deliver a speech.
Jeka
Jeka informs the family that it was Miso who got her pregnant and promised to marry her and demands to live with them until he comes back.
Achtung, achtung
Radosav takes German lessons in preparation for his trip to Munich.

Cousins from Belgrade arrive for a visit.

The family helps Radosav prepare for his trip to Munich when they receive an unexpected letter from their son Miso.
