Code of Law – Season 2
Police Investigators, Inspector Han, Staff Sergeant Razali and Deputy Superintendent Soh, together with hotshot criminal lawyers, Jacob Fernandez, Sabrina Wong and Sanjay Devaraj, return for yet another thrilling season with more exciting cases and new character developments. As with the first season, the stories in Season 2 are inspired by actual cases, reflecting headline-grabbing cases in Singapore in the past year such as sex scandals, bribery and corruption cases.
Episodes
Episode 1
When a female prisoner is found dead in her cell, suspicion falls on her two cellmates. Each says the other did it. It is up to Insp Han and SSgt Razali to uncover the truth. As it turns out, one of the cellmates is Ginny Toh, a former client of Jacob Fernandez. However, he chooses to defend the other cellmate, Nadiah. Guest starring Rebecca Lim, Nurul Aini.
Episode 2
The boss of a small start-up is found dead from a blow by a blunt instrument to his head. The investigations point to one of his interns, uncovering a pattern of workplace abuse… and a long buried secret.
Episode 3
The homicide team are called in when a newborn baby is found in the rubbish chute of a HDB estate. As Insp Han and SSgt Razali investigate, they are shocked to discover the identity of the baby’s mother, and the events that led up to her pregnancy. Meanwhile, the lawyers get some help from a new trainee in the firm, Noah, who comes with a secret past.
Episode 4
A university student is found strangled to death in her cousin’s apartment. Revenge, crime of passion, or a sex game gone wrong? It is up to the investigators, Insp Han and SSgt Razali, to uncover the truth. The lawyers, Jacob and Sabrina, then must tackle one of their most challenging clients.
Episode 5
A 60-year-old man is clubbed to death at the local community centre, right after a function. The investigators must wade through a suspect list of senior citizens to find out the tragic truth about what went wrong.
Episode 6
A woman is found clubbed to death in her own flat, and the police mount a manhunt for the would-be murderer. The truth, when uncovered, leads to a crime of passion, and a secret long buried.
Episode 7
The investigators and lawyers are drawn into a family tragedy when a 10-year-old invalid boy is found poisoned in his sleep, and his parents are accused of the murder. In the meantime, Insp Han attempts a reconciliation of sorts with his estranged son, Ken.
Episode 8
A schoolteacher is murdered in cold blood in full view of her husband. Coupled with the shock of the killing is the fact that it could’ve been committed by one of her own students. When Jacob and Sabrina agree to represent the Accused, they take on more than they bargained for.
Episode 9
An NS-man’s body washes up on a beach near a chalet. When Insp Han and SSgt Razali enter the army camp to investigate, they come up against resistance from the victim’s platoon mates. Could they be hiding a secret?
Episode 10
A nightclub owner is shot at point blank in a daring assassination, sparking a race against time for the investigators to find the shooter. When Jacob and Sabrina agree to represent the Accused, they realize they may have taken on one of their most dangerous clients.
Episode 11
In the first of a two-part season finale, the investigators must contend with not one, but two murder cases. In the first, someone close to Jacob Fernandez is found dead, putting him at loggerheads with Insp Han. In the second case, the investigators must reactivate a cold case when the remains of a young child are found buried in a park, the mark of a possible child cannibal.
Episode 12
In the second part of the season finale, Jacob must sit in on one of the most painful trials of his entire career. Meanwhile, Insp Han’s overzealousness may have cost him his career when he is accused of coercing a confession out of a suspect. Finally, Sabrina’s life is in peril when a client she is defending is acquitted, and comes after her.
