Black Tar – Season 1
Estranged brothers David and Vic reunite to sell sell drugs for a dangerous crime boss.

Pilot
David Kemp is a depressed alcoholic in and out of therapy, trying his best to deal with his soon-to-be-ex-wife, Eileen, two kids, Luke and Sophia, and aging father, Dale, alone. When he finds himself completely broke after a drinking binge, he turns to his estranged brother, Vic, for help. Vic spends his days in the business of distributing black tar heroin for notorious criminal Ira Monroe along with his best friend Clark, and associates Sammy, Conrad, and Rob. When David confronts his brother, Vic takes both him and Clark on a drug deal that goes wrong. Meanwhile, Sammy, Conrad, and Rob go looking for the others. They find a girl, Cindy, deep into addiction. Sammy takes her to his house and tries to help her kick her addiction. When the other three decide to take the money for themselves, a heated confrontation ends in Clark's death at the hands of Vic.
On the Clock
David and Vic conduct a lengthy scheme to break into a hospital so they can gather tools to cut up and dispose of Clark's body. Meanwhile, Sammy learns more about Cindy while Conrad and Rob go on a job for Ira. When David and Vic finish their job, Vic comes face-to-face with Dale for the first time in years. They have a heartfelt reunion while David vows to take better care of Luke and Sophia.
The Universal Language
Sammy, Conrad, and Rob meet David for the first time. The guys all go on a short road trip to meet with Korean gangsters for a drug deal. On the way, David and Vic have an argument over each other's flaws. Other than that, David's first deal goes smoothly, officially becoming part of the crew.
Thin Ice
Vic's ex-girlfriend, Sadie Cohen comes back to town after practicing law in New York. David encourages his brother to reconcile, but he is reluctant. Meanwhile, Sammy, Conrad, and Rob go through with another smooth deal.
The Long Haul
David and Vic both take time off, Vic to attempt to rekindle his relationship with Sadie and David to spend time with his kids. Vic and Sadie finally decide to try again while David proves to Eileen that he's not a deadbeat.
Mutually Assured
Vic and Sadie try to find common ground in their rekindled relationship when Dale's 70th birthday comes around. David and Vic plan his party at the retirement home. The party gets derailed when David's drinking gets a bit out of control, leading to a tense argument between brothers.
Suppository
The guys are tasked with picking up a shipment of heroin over the Mexico border, sending them on a long trip South. The job goes well, but the trip there and back leads each of them to discover more about each other.
Temperance
When David's drinking spirals out of control, Vic plans an intervention with all of his friends and family. After long consideration and a lot of arguing, David vows to quit drinking forever when it starts to cause problems with Luke and Sophia.
Totten Key
Ira arranges a flight to the Florida Keys for the guys so they can close a deal. Arriving long before they need to, the guys enjoy tropical life for a while. Conrad and Rob try to hit it big with the ladies while Vic enjoys a hotel pool and David resists the temptations of alcohol.
Mainline
The guys prep for the drug deal with Colombian drug lord Santiago Ramos. A simple mistake ends in them being hunted down by the cartel and forced into hiding. When they're found, Rob comes close to death, but all the guys manage to make it out alive.
Abscess
With a phone call to Ira, the guys make a plan to kill Santiago. Ira takes a drive down to Florida to help them out. They plan an ambush disguised as a peace offering, where they kill Santiago and his men. The guys pile into Ira's van and take off towards home.
The Balkan Route
The guys take a long drive back home from the Keys. On the way, confessions are made, secrets are spilled, and loyalties are tested.
Pattern of Rain
Finally back home, David and Vic reunite with their family. David and Eileen decide to get back together for the sake of the kids while Vic and Sadie make the next big step in their relationship. Sammy checks up on Cindy to see how she fared in his absence. Rob, still shaken from his experience in the Keys, gets high to numb the pain. He overdoses and dies with nobody around, leaving the season on a somber cliffhanger.
