The Elephant
When Anna sees photos and documents from her past, it turns out that she knows nothing about her childhood. What happened in her 12th grade so that she didn't have a single memory? Anna has always let the past rest, but in this series, she is looking for answers. She talks to a therapist, tries to let go, and concludes it's time to talk with her family.
The Council
Anna decides to start the conversation with her family that they have avoided all their lives. What happened in their family? And what can his mother and sister tell him about the worst moment of his life? A penetrating conversation with his mother and sister brings clarity for the first time, but also stirs up old wounds.

What happened in Iran that forced Anna and her family to flee? Where did they end up? Anna discovers that she has lived in holiday parks unsuitable for "ordinary citizens" and in stables transformed into centres for asylum seekers. There are also few images of this era. It has to do not only with their flight, but also with a traumatic incident that his mother is talking about.
The Judgment
Anna's success and fame also bring a lot of pressure and uncertainty. Is the harsh judgment of the outside world the cause of Anna's feelings of depression? Or does it affect her because she judges herself just as harshly? When it becomes too much for her in the Netherlands, she leaves for Los Angeles, in search of peace and freedom.
