A Doctor in the Family – Season 8
The story picks up a week after the season seven finale. Grandpa Libero has returned to Italy. At the Martini house, Marco and Maria announce they are getting married. Lele is summoned by the bank, and goes with Bianca, who is pregnant (as revealed in season seven). The bank manager explains to the Martinis that all residents of the Poggio Fiorito neighborhood must buy back their homes or resign themselves to losing them. The wedding is postponed because the entire family must save to face the unexpected. Fulvio Magnani, a shady businessman, becomes an enemy of the Martinis because, unlike the other families living in the neighborhood, they refuse to sell their home to him. Bianca and Giulio interact with their mother, Gemma Aubry, who appears only in this season.

Grandpa Libero has finally returned to Poggio Fiorito. Immediately, Marco and Maria announce their wedding, which will take place in two weeks. For the occasion, Grandpa has a special surprise in store: he's hiring Al Bano! The offer to buy the Aurora clinic forces Lele to tell the truth about the house they're about to take from him. The Martini family, informed, takes action.
Sweetest Bianca / Memories Are Not for Sale
The situation is critical for the Martinis. Really risking losing their house, Grandpa Libero sets out to track down the builder who defrauded them. For Grandpa Libero, losing his home is such a serious threat that it's even affecting his health. After his reluctance to sell used items at the neighborhood flea market, the family convinces him that everything is fine.
Night Visits / Love at First Sight
Lele finds himself clandestinely treating an old patient. He decides, taking great risk, to begin clandestinely seeing patients who can't afford the clinic's excessive prices. Annuccia begins working part-time as a delivery driver rather than ask her father, Lele, for money for the international class trip. She finds herself in a rough neighborhood when some thugs harass her.
The Involuntary Forger / The Martinis Don't Give Up
Bianca's relationship with her mother deteriorates under the chagrined eyes of Inge, who is truly devoted to her grandmother. Meanwhile, Marco lies to Maria about his new assignment. As if they weren't already in enough trouble, the Martinis have to renovate the roof of their house. It's not exactly the right time financially, and the family is truly worried.
Love at First Sight / Guilt
Lele and Bianca discuss the matter and believe it's necessary to fire the gardener, who has been tending the villa's garden for years. However, Melina, overhearing the conversation, believes she'll be the one to be fired. So she immediately gets to work. Marco returns to Rome, and Maria picks him up at the airport. Unexpectedly, his colleague Antonia is also with him. Lying to his girlfriend once again, Marco manages to get away with it, but Maria begins to suspect him.
Occupation to the Bitter End / Lies Have Short Legs
Lele and Bianca discuss the future of the Martini household and decide to look for a new place. The children, however, don't welcome the news, and they decide to move into the house, unbeknownst to the entire family. Marco gives Maria his engagement ring and promises that they will get married immediately after his final departure for Brussels. Meanwhile, at Villa Aurora, Lele and Guenda seem to grow closer after she shows her human side.
Crisis Unit / The Miraculous Catch
Maria has no idea where Marco is, so she takes it upon herself to authorize the operation for little Jonathan. She discovers the bitter truth: Marco has been lying to her, continuing to film documentaries in war zones. Marco returns to Rome, and Maria is waiting for him at the airport, only to tell him that it's finally over between them. Once they both return home, the situation seems to improve: but how long will it last?
Consolation Prize / A Day at the Beach
Things between Marco and Maria seem to be getting worse and worse, so much so that he returns home early in the morning to make the children believe he's still living with them. Grandpa Libero notices the situation and promises to help him. Seeing her father's increasingly sad state, Inge decides to arrange a meeting with the separated mother of a schoolmate. However, the date goes sour, and the woman goes into anaphylactic shock.
A Dog's Life / Fear of Flying
Maria seems more determined than ever to pursue a relationship with Roberto, but she continues to hide everything from Marco, who begins to suspect her. Maria and Roberto's relationship seems to be progressing well, but when she discovers that Palù has bitten one of her friends, displaying an aggressive attitude she's never seen before, she realizes the little girl is suffering.
White Nights / The Interrogation
Marco risks losing custody of Jonathan, but Maria offers to help him. The situation becomes more complicated, because now Marco and Maria are forced to organize a fake wedding. With the help of their family, Marco and Maria manage to convince the assistant. Everything could be resolved, if it weren't for Micol's threat: if the wedding doesn't happen, she will do anything to get the child back.
Farmhouse for Sale / The Big Parade
Marco and Maria announce to their children that when they return from the school camp, they will each go their separate ways. At this point, Maria can focus on Roberto and introduce him to the family. While Maria is driving to her daughter's camp, her car breaks down. She decides to call Roberto, but just then Marco arrives and offers to drive her.
Forbidden Kisses / New York, New York
Lele helps Maria clear her head, and the young woman realizes that her heart actually beats for Marco. Unfortunately, Roberto's father is on the verge of bankruptcy, and Maria doesn't feel like leaving him now. Antonia does everything she can to distance the journalist from his ex-girlfriend, even making Maria believe that, in addition to moving to New York City, Marco will be living there with her.
The Night of Wishes / Happy Events at the Martini House
Everything seems to be working out for the best: Lele manages to buy back the house with the money he got in Paris thanks to Bianca's show, while Maria, after clarifying her doubts, will return to Marco. And Roberto? As they're about to cut off the electricity and gas at the Martini house, the family decides to leave before it all ends before their eyes. But there's still time to plan a surprise wedding for Maria.
La pesca miracolosa
Marco returns to Rome and Maria is waiting for him at the airport, but only to inform him that it is definitely over between them. Both back home, the situation seems to improve: but how long will it last?
