Lele leaves for Australia while Alice, who will soon join her husband, is in Brazil. At university, Maria meets Guido, a brilliant doctor who is looking for a place to live and will be hired by the new director of the local health authority. Maria is fascinated by Guido, but the doctor seems completely uninterested in her. Meanwhile, Ciccio, after a prank that nearly ended in tragedy, attempts to escape from Lele in Australia.
The Woodworm of Suspicion / The Frog Pond
Enrica notices the growing connection between Maria and Guido and puts a "flea in Grandpa Libero's ear," who begins to worry. Meanwhile, everyone begins to discover that Alberto hasn't even passed a single university exam. Grandpa Libero doesn't want anything to happen between Guido and Maria and does everything he can to keep them apart. Meanwhile, Alberto is depressed and sleeps in the garage to be alone. It will take his family's help to pull him out of this dark depression.
White Nights / Duty First
Cettina sets out to find Giacinto, discovering a bitter truth. Maria, due to a painful experience, no longer wants to take her medical tests. Will Guido be able to convince her otherwise? Nilde is forced to close the restaurant due to a poisoning and notices that Guido is the one signing the complaint. Alberto, improvising a late-night radio show, manages to get a permanent job.

Grandpa Libero meets Antoinette, the nanny of one of Annuccia's classmates; the child is strangely too quiet, and Antoinette doesn't understand why, so Grandpa Libero invites her to take him to the local health authority so Guido can examine him. A mysterious statue found in the garden divides the family. Guido tries to help Carlotta solve her problem, but the situation quickly escalates, verging on disaster.

Carlotta confesses to Guido that she's in love with him, sending him into a crisis because he can't understand his feelings for Maria. Their birthday dinner, however, is cancelled due to an unexpected event. Maria is delighted to have met Gianluca, a charming lawyer who courts her like a true princess. Meanwhile, at Ciccio's school, some kids break in at night and break the pipes to skip tests and homework.
Collision Course / The Mating Season
Gianluca surprises Maria by taking her to lunch on a boat on the Tiber, bearing a flag with the word "Maria" written on it. Meanwhile, Guido has started dating Carlotta, and everything seems to be going well... or not? Carlotta suggests that Guido move in together, and the doctor accepts. Meanwhile, Maria, having broken off her relationship with Gianluca, has begun volunteering at a drug rehabilitation center.
Thirty for Everyone... or Almost / You'll Give Me a Heart Attack
Maria is preparing for an exam and is very nervous, and Grandpa Libero thinks it's Gianluca's fault. Guido and Carlotta continue their relationship, even though the breakup puts a strain on their relationship. Grandpa Libero hears the news on the news that a young blonde student has been arrested in Fiumicino along with Gianluca for drug dealing. Thinking it's Maria, he feels ill and suffers a heart attack.
An Impatient... Patient / Betrayal Love
Meanwhile, Guido is having problems with Carlotta, who's fed up with seeing her boyfriend completely absorbed in the Martini family. Maria sees Gianluca in front of her house, telling her he wants to run away to avoid the trial. Guido and Carlotta are increasingly at odds, and they argue again during dinner. Guido goes to a friend's house, who introduces him to two girls, and the next morning, the doctor wakes up drunk next to one of them.
Playing with Fire / Returns
Maria is angry with Guido and disappointed because he cheated on Carlotta. A self-esteem course is being held at the local health authority, and thanks to it, the doctors are able to talk about their problems, especially Carlotta's. Guido and Maria go to pick up Annuccia at the zoo, but the little girl gets lost. Because of this, Guido doesn't show up for his appointment with Carlotta, but in the meantime, Maria and the doctor finally kiss.
Contracts / Watch Out, Little Red Riding Hood!
After their kiss at the zoo, Guido realizes he has strong feelings for Maria, but she wants him to leave Carlotta first. Meanwhile, Carlotta seems increasingly attached to Marcello, and not just for work. Maria is tired of waiting for Guido and decides to go out and distract herself with Reby. During a night out, she's stopped by the police and her car is confiscated. Who will get her out of this mess?
Quicksand / Home Visits
Maria and Guido go to the beach to be alone, and when they return home, covered in sand, Libero realizes they spent the afternoon together. Due to a mistake, Guido is suspended from the local health authority. Maria asks Nonno Libero not to tell anyone about her affair with Guido, but he realizes that everyone already knew. Meanwhile, Guido makes house calls, and patients show up at the Martini house because they want only him.
Why Don't You Believe Me? / Never Give Up on Your Dreams
Guido and Maria's relationship falls apart due to a misunderstanding. Even Grandpa Libero is furious with the boy, unable to understand that it's not actually his fault. Guido then decides to make a video to explain everything. Given all hope of getting Maria back, Guido requests an immediate transfer to Milan and says goodbye to Marcello and Carlotta outside the local health authority. On the way to church, Maria realizes she wants Guido and runs to the station...
