Dimitry Alexandrovich Sobolev (Дмитрий Александрович Соболев), born December 11, 1961 in Fergana, Uzbekistan and died December 25, 1997 in Annapurna, Nepal, was a Soviet and Kazakh mountaineer and cameraman. As a child, he moved to live in Almaty in Kazakhstan and from the age of 16 took up mountaineering. He worked as a guide in the Tien Shan and the Pamirs.
