Benjamín (Benji) López is a director and screenwriter. He was born in East Chicago, Indiana to Puerto Rican parents. After six years, they moved back to the island, specifically to the town of Comerío, where his father was from. López didn't start directing until his late 20s/early 30s. Before starting his filmmaking career, he was a musician serving as the singer of the band Taba Co for several years.
